More tours of Hanford environmental cleanup projects have been added for 2016, after most seats on the originally scheduled tours were claimed by noon Tuesday.

Registration for the first 15 tours opened at 9 a.m.

The Department of Energy will open registration for 10 more bus tours on June 1 atwww.hanford.gov. Participants must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old.

New dates for the four-hour tours are Aug. 2, 3, 10, 16, 17, 24, 30 and 31 and Sept. 7 and 8.

People also may check back occasionally at www.hanford.gov so see if any seats have become available due to cancellations.

The tours are offered by the Department of Energy and are unrelated to the tours of B Reactor and other historic tours of Hanford offered by the National Park Service with DOEfor visitors to the new Manhattan Project National Park at Hanford.
