The Toasted Frog has been named a 2018 American Small Business Champion by SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors.

The Toasted Frog will now compete against 101 other small business champions for one of three $15,000 grand prizes. Winners will be announced Sept. 13.

Owners Jonathan Holth and Shawn Clapp were mentored by Gerry Joyce, a volunteer with Grand Forks SCORE. They opened the first Toasted Frog restaurant in Grand Forks in 2006, and have since added locations in Bismarck and Fargo.

Since 1964, SCORE has helped more than 10 million aspiring entrepreneurs. Each year, SCORE’s 10,000 volunteer business experts provide over 450,000 free small business mentoring sessions, workshops and educational services to clients in 300 chapters nationwide.
